Hello there 2017!

Hey there 2017, its nice to finally see ya. haha. I know I've been MIA since my last post. This is what I've been doing lately, working in my mini album. Of course watching past seasons of Broad City, I love this show, some say it's crude but I love it, it cracks me up.
I hope January is treating you well. As for me, well the weather here in Utah, we've been getting dumped on with snow. And I've been drinking a lot of hot chocolates.
Next time I will write what I'm thinking about what I will be doing in 2017. Have a good week and stay out of the cold. I know I will.
Have a happy week people!

December Daily, my first page.

I actually started my December daily, yay! Well sort of  since December first until now I've been taking pictures but I've only done one page as of today. Oh well.
I've been contemplating on how to make up my book. I've been watching a lot of Youtube, checking out Instagram, and scrolling through Pinterest. I know wanted to do a junk journal book, but the book I wanted to altered wasn't what I wanted. So I opted to make a jump-ring book with chipboard I had in my stash. I wanted  the pages a bit bigger than I usually would make, I measured my book seven-inch by nine inches. I thought it would be big enough to hold a four by six picture(s). I had extra jump rings from a previous project so I end up using them. I'm trying to use my christmas stash I had from the past. I have so much embellishments and papers to last me for several years.
I did buy some new items for this year but not a whole lot, new washi tapes, new embellishments, and couple of papers. I need to stop buying stuff I already have but it's hard to resist.
I think I overwhelmed myself all the ideas I had to make my December daily, and I did. It took me a bit to figure out just the first page, and I'm sorry but not sorry how I wanted the first page to look. Now I get it when other ladies were preparing for their December daily book, because it takes so long to design a book. But I'm determined to finish this book, and completely finished this book. I'm glad I wrote down what pictures I took everyday up until today. Because if I didn't I would be more confuse and forget what is what.
I'm already stumped on what to take pictures now, I did wrote down ideas before but I don't want to repeat what I've already done. I still take pictures no matter what, maybe more then what I usually would do in a day.
I need the time now to work on my book, just sucks I have the weekend to work on it but I have so much to do besides working on my book. We have like twelve more days until Christmas, and I haven't finished my shopping, other paper crafts, wrapping my presents and so many others. Bahhh! I'm trying not to stress out on the little things, but there is days I wish there are four of me. Enough of me complaining about my woes.
Anyway, I wanted to show off my first page of my December daily. I'm acutally happy I made it and I'm determined to finish this book. DETERMINED.
Now, I cannot wait!! until this weekend. Because I really want to work on the next pages. I cannot wait how this book will turn out inside and out. Wish me luck.
Well I hope you all enjoy your weekend since we're starting a new work week. Yay! I don't work tonight, I'm gonna enjoy my night off by watching an old episode of Frasier and maybe a cuppa hot chocolate. Yummm sound good!
Anyways, have a good night or morning. Until next week I hope to show couple more of my pages in my next post. Next time, see ya.

This is my front cover, I usually wait until the pages are done and then work the front oover

I used Core;dinations premium carstock from Joann's, I really didn't like the feel of it I thought I use it as my base and cover it with my christmas papers.

Ta-Dahhh!!! my first page. I don't know why  it always takes me forever to make a page. But it's stress-relieving to make something I like to do. My first page, is my front door with a fresh wreath and a new door mat Sorry can't really see the new door mat I should move the journaling card. The little notecard with the house is my journaling card with the writing  on the back.

It's December

It's December already!!! Wow. Just last week it was thanksgiving. Time flies and feel like I will never catch up with anything. That's okay, this past year has been kind a of an eye opener and I think 2016 has been an awkward year for me.
Well, this past weekend has been a busy one. I'm back to my regular work schedule no time off until Christmas, yay! but our company had our christmas party at a restaurant called Carrabba's, it's a italian inspired restaurant. I love coming here I think it's much better than Olive Garden. I like more of their selection, such as my chicken parmesan yum! with the side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. I know it doesn't sounds italian but I like how they cooked their dishes, I also had a "John Cole," with a pear sangria cocktail. The John Cole ice cream, is vanilla ice cream  with candied pecans and drizzled caramel. Was so good, The cocktail well, I didn't care it was two o'clock in the afternoon. Damn it! I'm having a drink because I deserve a nice meal with cocktail and it's the end of a work  week. (it's a good drink but I forgot what the ingredients were, oops my bad.)
So that was friday, and yesterday I went to the Festival of Trees in Sandy, at my favorite expo. With my friend from whom we known each other for about a decade. Maritta, my friend invited me to go.
The Festival of Trees, people donate decorative trees, wreaths, quilts, gingerbread homes to benefit the Primary Children's Hospital. Here is the link if you wanna know more www.festivaloftreesutah.org Alot of families go there and check out the many decorated trees and gingerbread homes, and other donated items. They also have live entertainment as well.
Oh my gosh! I was pretty oblivious of how many were there, when we arrived ten minutes the parking lot was nearly full. The line to get in the expo was quite long, and there was a second line for the tickets. Too many people at ten o'clock in the morning for me, and I didn't have a decent breakfast to endure that many people and kids and more kids.
Why I wanted to go, well Maritta invited me and I haven't been for many years. I think waiting for another several more years is good enough for me. I did have a good time, I don't really spend that much time with Maritta, because we're so busy with our jobs and lives we hardly see each other it's good we get to spend time when we do like yesterday, lol.
We stayed over two hours at the expo, I was done. They also sold scones and other sweet treats and also had little shop. The shop carried a lot of homemade items to sell like blankets, wash cloths, paper goods just to name a few, a lot people donate their time and effort to benefit for the cause. Afterwards, it was time to go. It was getting too crowded for me and walking around made me tired and hungry. Of course, after we went christmas shopping and also had a late lunch in Sandy. I had a good time it was tiring but fun.
What else been going on, or any projects up my sleeve? Well, I'm doing the December Daily. what is December Daily? All I know that Ali Edwards (scrapbooker/designer) came up with the idea to document the days of December up until twenty fifth or until the end of the month. Just record everyday and takes pictures of the month December. I know if ya type up "December Daily," there is probably tons of ideas and kits to start december daily. I know pinterest, the web, and of course youtube will have all the ideas to check it out.
I've been watching a lot of youtube lately about December Daily. Man! some of these ladies are set and prepared for the month of December. The have tutorials how to prep, set up, kits to make, and a lot of ideas for this concept. I was overwhelmed with the thought of setting up and getting ready for this December Daily. I haven't set up my book or I should say I haven't even  made my book or even developed the pictures and it's only the fourth day. I'm trying not stress about being organized over this because if I do I know it won't get done.
I'm been thinking about the prompts I can use day by day, there so many ideas out there, I'm picking the ones that will benefit me and I know I will use. I have a board on pinterest with all my ideas I wanna use for December Daily, I just need to head over before its gets too late to write down my prompts for the month.  Of course, I will have pictures of my book soon, I set aside my other projects so I can do this December Daily.
Sorry, it's a long post I know I didn't post last week. I've been thinking a lot about other situations just lost track. I hope you all had great weekend and I hope this coming week will be a better one.
 See ya!

Winter Market at the Riogrande.

Yesterday Karen and I went to Salt Lake on a whim, we headed to the Winter Market at the Riogrande in Salt Lake. Since Thanksgiving is next Thursday, we decided to head to the market to buy our vegetables and herbs also some other goodies for us as well.
We like going to Salt Lake, whenever we can I think there is more to do in Salt Lake than in Utah County. There isn't a farmers market during the winter where we live in Utah County, so we travel an hour to go shop. I don't mind coming up here so often because I think there is much to do up there than down south where we live.
I think it may be our tradition to come and visit the market before thanksgiving, we actually came up here last year and that was much fun. So this year we wanted to check out the fresh produce and see what was out for the season,
It does get crowded, it was bit chilly we kinda had to bundle up for the early shopping. There was apples, meat from the local butcher, potatoes, herbs carrots and someone was selling juices and of course the food trucks along the streets. Inside the building we seen some pastries (my fave) bread, hummus, cupcakes and chocolates.
Good thing we came early enough, because by the time we got done it was pretty busy by the time we left. whew! carrying potatoes and apples can wear you out, hahaha.
I would like to come up here again very soon, this time I want to pick up some more apples and some meat particularly some lamb meat. I hope he will be around next time. There are some time I wished we lived closer to the city. I like coming up to Salt Lake, its different, and more things to do than back here in Utah County. Sometimes I wish.

Every Time we shop for food, we ALWAYS stop by at Caputo's. It's a Italian shop, they sell pasta, meat, and cheese they also have a deli inside. Best place to buy some olives and meat. It's to die for. Lol. It's one of a couple of shops that sells Italian food that I know of, one of the specialty shops they have in the city. There is a bakery right next door too. Its called Carlucci's Bakery, of course it's one my favorite place to shop for baked goods. they also serve breakfast and lunch. That is why I would love to live here, I'd probably be here almost every day.
Yep, that was my Saturday. I had a great day just shopping for thanksgiving. It's nice to come up to Salt Lake when we can, even it's for food. I like coming to my favorite shops again and again. Now that the shopping is done, this coming week it's going to be busy. Working, cleaning and getting ready for the NEXT holiday, Christmas, Ugh. So much to do in a little bit of time.
Soo, I hope you all have a good week and also have a Happy Thanksgiving!! until next time.

Letterpress at the U

I've been planning to go this letterpress mini-workshop, up at the University of Utah (or the U, its what everyone calls it) for a couple of weeks now. I've been wanting to try out letterpress for sometime now, I thought this was my opportunity to check it out.
So my sister Karen and I went to Salt Lake last friday to attend the "Print Appreciation" held at the "U" campus at the J. Willard Marriott Library. The public were welcome to try out the school's antique presses, they were all set up with modular design, all pre-inked so the participants can make their own designed cards. The cost was $5 for 1 or $3 for $10. Of course I made three for myself and Karen also made several cards for herself.  They were selling some of their books and I bought a couple of them for a $1 for my scrapbooking.
The instructors showed us how to load the press with our notecards and then they let us try on our own. They had several pre-inked presses for us to try, we just went around and chose what design we liked best. The instructors were really nice, helped us when we needed and very friendly to everyone.
I had the best time, I felt like a kid in a candy store mesmerized by all the presses and the little shelves that held all their blocks of letters. I even picked up a flyer for classes for letterpress. Hmm, maybe just maybe I might be thinking of taking classes for this, maybe.
We stayed for over an hour, it wasn't too long. They also served refreshments so we stayed for that as well. I enjoyed myself, it was fun, different and I wanna do more stuff like this in the future something I really liked to do.
Before we head out to the university, Karen and I went to Red Rock Co. for some grub to eat. Luckily, we got there before the lunch rush hit. It's been awhile since we ate up here and we chose this place because we haven't been here yet. I picked the grilled reuben with sweet potatoes, it was so good! the sauerkraut wasn't to strong or overload with it, the bread was a little weak. The stuffing kept falling out and I was making a mess. The sweet potatoes fries was crispy and came with some dipping sauce. Yummy! Karen had the tuna salad sandwich with a side salad. She thought the side salad would be a small plate but it was pretty big, and she didn't even finished it. But she did enjoy the tuna, wasn't to messy or overcome by the dressing.
Overall, it was pretty good place. Our server was pretty nice and the atmosphere was pretty busy with a lot business lunches that was happening. Karen wants to try out the dinner here, I'm down for that when we get the time again.
Overall, our Friday afternoon was quite a awesome day. I was happy to attend the Print Appreciation at the university and had some great food for lunch. I'm happy to share my friday fun with you all.
I hope there will be more things to do in the coming months. Now Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming up we shall see, I still working on my little junk journal and figuring out what cards to make for Thanksgiving for friends.
I hope your weekend was a great, and I hope week ahead will even be better, until nextime.

what's been happening lately

Recently I've been trying to get back into scrapbooking, and cardmaking. I always have an excuse not getting caught up, something comes up or my work table is covered with paper, junk and more. So I made myself print my pictures in a smaller format, and made a little 5x8 junk journal/smashbook with my bind-it-all.
When I have the time I would try working in my book, also I've been putting my instax pictures in the book too. Its the perfect size for it, Im actually happy how its coming along with my little book. (I will do a showing when I'm closer to finishing it).
Also, Im watching a lot of youtube on junk journals, traveling notebooks, cards. Like how-to's, and tutorials on them. Lately I been needing a lot of inspirations, ideas just trying to get back into making stuff, crafting. Just need that relief from stress and do what I love doing, papercrafting.
While I'm working in my book, I will be working on my thanksgiving cards, I  have one done but several to go. I wish there was more thanksgiving stamps or saying out there, There probably is online but I'm actually not a big online shopper I like to shop in stores because I like to see it, hold it and actually take it home that same day. I shouldn't be shopping for more stuff I should use what I have and I intend to.
I hope to get to finish my little book, want to finish as much as I can. I would like to make another junk journal for christmas and do a similar "Daily December,"
Since the holidays are coming quickly, I'll try to keep up on my posts and show more of my pages, or whatever I'm working on at the moment.
So until next time I hope you all have a great week and keep crafting.

The lighting isn't so good, I've been working late in to the night on my pages. Even though, its 5x8  book there is so many choices and lots of ideas to make a single page.

trying to use up my stash of everything

I cannot wait till its done.

Have a great week everyone!!

What's going on.

Well I didn't think I was going to be away this long. A lot has happened since my last post, just dealing with visiting with doctors and dealing with medications. It wasn't a fun early Autumn for me, I'm doing okay for now. I don't want to say a whole lot about it, something I was worried about and figure out what was bothering me. Nothing serious, just womanly stuff we woman have to deal with when getting older.
Sooooo...Any ways, just been busy with my jobs and trying to enjoy my autumn. Actually my friend Maritta, wanted to go to the corn maze in Provo, Utah. after the first day of Autumn. Before that day  it rained for about three days straight. It even rained that morning before we went to the corn maze. Maritta, texted me telling me that it was raining and I thought she was giving me an update before we went. Finally it stopped in late afternoon, I thought great we can still go and check out the corn maze. So I met up with her and she drove us both to the corn maze near the Utah lake. When we got there it looked like we were the first ones, there were just barely setting up. I didn't know what was going because Maritta, was in charge of our day of fun at the corn maze.
After we got ourselves situated we trek our way into the corn maze. Apparently, this year's theme was "bigfoot in Utah," They told us that if we find all the clues and punch our cards they would gave us a prize. I thought ok, it's gonna be quick. I thought wrong. We trek into mud and puddles of water everywhere. Several times I almost lost my shoe or shoes. I wasn't thinking about the mud and the rain how it would gonna be a mess after that rain storm. Maritta wanted to keep going and hit all the posts get our cards punch and finish the maze. I was not having it I wanted to be done with but I stuck to it and keep on going.
During our way through the maze, we kept sinking into to the mudd. Omgosh! I felt like we were in quicksand. There were times we got lost but Maritta the navigator got us out. We calculated it took us almost two hours over two miles of walking in the corn maze. By then, I was really tired and thirsty. Luckily we both carried a bottled of water with us that was a lifesaver.
After coming out of the corn maze we had to trek out on the muddy trail back to where we started. Some of the employees were staring at us and blurting out "I thought we had to send out a crew to find you guys," I was so happy to get out of the corn maze. I didn't think we could ever finish the maze. Oh man, that was a work out, but the good thing was we got our punch card all punched. They told us were the first people to finish the whole corn maze and they gave us free pumpkins. I was excited and picked our pumpkins. Yay!!

Can tell in the background how muddy the maze was, it was muddy

My friend Marita and me somewhere deep in the cornmaze

check out our muddy shoes, I wasn't to happy about it cause there were my favorite pair, I haven't still washed them

A whole LOT! of pumpkins we got to choose our own. Mine is actually still sitting out in the front porch.
I think that was my exciting time in September for me, It wasn't really a good month for me. I was not enjoying myself.  But since then I've been trying to do some cards, scrapbooking and always cleaning my room and enjoy my little craft area in my tiny bedroom.
But I will post more soon what I've been up to. Well I hope all is well and enjoy weekend. I'm gonna try. Happy Weekend!!1

Beer Fest!

My friend Tony and I went to the Annual Beer Festival in Salt Lake. I've been wanting to go the beer fest, for some time but never could because I'm usually working on the weekend. Luckily Tony, thought of me and was nice of him to organize our day at the festival. This year, the festival was held at the Utah State park. I was kind a of hesitant to head out there because we were planning to use the transit system. Tony was not to please of how many stops and far the walking would be, it would've taken us over hour and half to get there by transit. So we opt for the driving, driving there was just over forty-five minutes.
We arrived got in line, they gave a wrist bands. We load our wristbands with "tokens," and we want to sample a beer the vendor will scan our bands to purchase the drink. Oh yes! they also gave our little sample cups a 5oz. we could go more but I thought the 5oz. was a suitable size for me.
Tony wanted to try more of the hard cider, me I wanted to try whatever was out there: since it was my first time at the festival. We went to building that house the hard cider, one vendor had soda-type beer/cider. I tried a peach cider and green apple cider, oh my they were very bubbly but very sweet, and tart.
We also had lunch at the festival, quite a few food trucks. Good thing we had something I don't think I would of made it on a empty stomach. The same food truck from the Craft Lake City was at the beer fest, so we went there and had their bowls.
We just walked the park and checked out the beer vendors, some came from a lot from Colorado and Oregon, few from California and Nevada and of course some from our state. I sampled more of light beers, there was quite a few IPA. But I'm more favorable of something light and not too hoppy. I'm more of hefeweizen, and wheat beer kinda gal, hahaha.
They also had some music playing, I was kinda disappointed in the seating and the shade. It was sunny, I guess we could of brought our chairs if we would've known I would brought them with us. Some fun and games, and karaoke.
I had a great time, I hope my friend Tony did too. After our beer sampling, we have cravings for ice cream so we looked around the food vendors but no one was; so we end up leaving and getting dessert somewhere else.

Outside at the Utah State park, it may not look crowded but after an hour it did, good thing it wasn't too hot but sunny.

Cheers! love our little beer mugs. I kept mine. haha. love it

So we left the festival and head over to Gourmandise, near downtown. We had our desserts, I had two! I overindulge but it was so good!

That was my August adventures, I think August was a good month with cool events. I'm actually happy with the events last month. I'm proud I went out and did something fun. So happy.
I know it's the middle of September already, can't you believe next Thursday will be first day of fall. Oh my gosh! I'm still trying to figure out what to make for treats and cards and getting ready for MY holiday (first day of fall). Uughhh! I'm overwhelm right now, I think it's going to be simple this year.
Well I guess I need to start planning right!   I hope you all have a good weekend. next time

Sunday reads

It's been quite busy on my end, so sorry for not posting so soon. Just been trying to tidy up my bedroom/space. I've been trying to downsize and getting rid of stuff I haven't use in a while, I'm happy with my paper stash. I happy to get rid of the paper mess that's been sitting on my shelf for quite some time. I'm not quite down around here, I still have my clothes to donate, or put away in storage until summer again.
So yes, that's what's been going on recently. Also I have some stuff to show you what I've done last month. Because I promised I would the last time.

My sister and I went to Sundance in the Provo Canyon. You know the place that infamous actor lives and I think owns, Robert Redford. We have a friend that we work with her daughter works at the resort. My friend's daughter gave us free tickets to the ride the ski lifts. During the summer time at Sundance, they have night ski lifts rides.
We kind a of went little early at dusk, because we have heard it does get very busy with "date night," that night we went there was also a wedding going on, so it was a busy night. I didn't take A LOT of pictures because it was dark, and tons of people. I didn't think of taking pictures of the tickets because I thought we could keep it.
I've never been on the ski lifts, just never been. But oh my gosh the experience was pretty cool. You couldn't hear anything except the crickets and see deer down below. Once in while you could hear people on the lifts. OH my Gosh!! it was so quiet, it reminded me of home in Arizona. What I didn't like was when the lifts stop in mid-air and the chair would swing a bit. It was a nice lift ride, see the the outline of the mountain against the sky. We did get to see Robert Redford's house, It was HUGE! Coming back around it was getting dark, could see that more people have got on the lifts.
It was fun, enjoying the view, the quiet time and listening to the crickets. I would do it again before the autumn breeze takes over us.
I hope you enjoy reading my post although it may be random sometimes. I hope you enjoy Your SundayFunday!

Very Late Post

I'm Back!! I know I was AWOL for a second. But, I have several pictures and small adventures I had this month of August to share with you all. I can't believe August is almost over and a few days it will be September. YaY!!! you know what that means,, Fall will be here as you know it. I've already see the trees against the mountain in Utah are turning. Well I can't wait!!! I can not wait! until the first day of Fall!!!
So anyways, Few weeks ago, I went to the Craft Lake City in Salt Lake at the Gallivan Center in downtown area. It's vendors from all over Utah, mostly around the metro area, display their wearable art, food, jewelry anything that is handmade from local people, you can buy from them too. Also hear the music and several food truck to choose.
Karen and I went on the first day just because my mom's birthday was that weekend and we went on the first day of the show. This year was August 12th-14th. So the twelfth was the only day to check it out. The first day it opened at 5p.m. We actually arrive late, when we got there I wanted to head straight up to the V.I.P section because the good stuff are always gone. The V.I.P section was on a second floor looking over the venue and had a patio to chill. They serve alcohol, couple of sandwiches, popsicles and some workshop to attend but we didn't get go to that, instead we enjoy our two free drinks and ate some food and I had a popsicle.
We just chill for an hour so, and I that time I was kinda buzzin but that's okay lol, After our freebies, we wanted to check out the venue, But my sister was hungry and we ate at one of the food trucks. It was pretty good. By the time were eating the venue was about closing and we just end up going home. I was kinda bummed we didn't get see what vendors were selling.
Yea, I was pretty bum we didn't to look around. I wanted to come back up But I thought my mom's birthday was more important. I think for sure next time I will try a two-day pass. I was actually thinking of volunteering next year. Just because I want to get in free and enjoy more time up there. Well see I guess, I hope it works out I can't wait until next year!
I have my local adventures all line up after this post. I promise! It will be up. a look back on my
August adventures.
