California vacation!

I meant to post this while ago but I was caught with work I've been wanting to put this up and now I am.
Yup, I finally went to California, finally. I went during Halloween weekend, because the main reason was the Hello Kitty convention going on that weekend. So I packed my bag and my friend Maritta and I went to Cali for that weekend. But I will break it up in first day, second day and so on. First day, was Hello Kitty day and spent all day at the convention. Oh my word, so many people I mean tons of people there was news reporters and everything. I forgot to mentioned its the first time in the states to have the Hello Kitty convention and its been around for 40 years! can't you believe it. I can't.

It's been awhile I know

I've been putting this off for quite a bit, my bad. Everyday life sometimes gets in the away of doing what you love. I've been trying to keep every thing in balance but it doesn't turn out that way, I have a certain way of doing things but always comes out different. Always does.
I could write and write and you tell you my excuse for not writing and not making things that makes me happy but sometimes you have to do what you gotta do to survive everyday; work, eat, and sleep and repeat. Lately, I've been down  I think its because of everyday demands especially work. I shouldn't complain but sometimes I wish I can just make things and don't have to worry about money or necessities. Like I said, its what you gotta do to make it for yourself. I'm highly critical on myself, I think its because growing up I have parents who expects a lot and playing sports coaches always saying crap and art classes are always critiquing on every work you do, you kinda start judging and being the worse critic of yourself. Hard to let go all these years but you can't just let it go with a snap of a finger, sometimes you have to say who gives a shit and move on.
BUT lets set aside my serious thought and move on. A friend of mine is having a birthday coming up, for a her birthday gift I made some handmade invites for her party in November. I wanted to do something nice for her and also she's turning the 30!! So I made these for her, it took me a while to make. I tried to make it simple, but every time I do its always the opposite. Arrghhh, frustrates me the most, simpler the card the more time consuming and expensive is it. I like making it but it took me awhile to get all done, I was very satisfied with the outcome but worry what my friend would think of it. At the end she liked it, whew I'm glad to hear.
start of the invites, I was thinking and planning, don't mind the ale. It was well needed especially at this point.
my desk is always like this when I work, everything is every where.

seriously I need more space.

have everything cut and about to assemble

Finally done!! all 20 of em!!!
done! my friend was gonna send some through the mail so I opted out the black gems because of mailing purposes
The card it self, I used Micheals kraft cardstock, the pink paper I picked up at Joanns, the gold too. the polk-a-dot vellum was MME. The gold twine was from Micheals from the beading section of the store and the banner was cut out pages from an old book. I used a emboss plate polk-a-dot to use on the pink from Provo Craft. I slightly distress the edges with and use tim holtz ink and used gold emboss around the pink. Printed out the saying from my computer font.
This is the first paper craft I made since last March, I know the holidays are coming up I need to catch up on my cards and other paper crafts to make, until next time.
